Chad Daybells Former Home Demolished

Chad Daybell's Former Home Demolished

Demolition Begins on Chad Daybell's Former Idaho Home

The former home of Chad Daybell in Salem, Idaho, is being demolished by its new owners, according to a report from East Idaho News. The property, which is located at 2032 West 2000 North, was purchased by Melanie Gibb and Ian M. Gibbons in December 2022.

Daybell was arrested in June 2020 and charged with multiple counts of murder and conspiracy in connection with the deaths of his wife, Tammy Daybell, and his stepchildren, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow.

Gibbons Says Demolition Necessary for Healing

Ian Gibbons told East Idaho News that he and his wife decided to demolish the home because it was a "constant reminder" of the crimes that had taken place there.

"We wanted to start fresh and create new memories on this property," Gibbons said.

Gibbons said that the demolition process began on Wednesday, March 8, and is expected to be completed within a few weeks.

Daybell Convicted and Sentenced to Life in Prison

In May 2023, Daybell was convicted of all charges against him and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The demolition of Daybell's former home is a symbolic end to a tragic chapter in the history of Salem, Idaho. The new owners hope that the property can now be a place of healing and new beginnings.
